Our Team Is Growing!

We have big news!

Our missionary team is growing! No we are NOT pregnant, but we are excited to announce that Vern and Gloria Wagner have been appointed by the Camp Falcon Rock board as well as the North American Baptist Conference to be full-time missionaries in Romania. They will be serving toward the development of the camp and journeying along with us as we see the Kingdom advanced through this ministry. This is truly another story of God’s faithfulness. We have been diligently strategizing and organizing ways to help the camp be self-sustainable to ensure the longevity of its ministry. One need we identified was training local workers to operate the camp, however we knew we needed a skilled and experienced maintenance/security worker and operations coordinator as soon as possible. Vern and Gloria are huge assets to our team for this purpose. The Wagners worked at Camp Caroline in Alberta a part of the Alberta Baptist Association for 10 years. Vern worked as head of maintenance and Gloria assisted with the kitchen and cleaning operations. They have incredible skills and wisdom in developing, maintaining and running a camp facility as well as a heart to see local workers trained and empowered. Their role will be to help with the immediate facility development as well as to mentor and train local workers into their positions for long term.

The Wagner’s first visited Romania on Central’s Baptist’s trip last April, which ran VBS programs as well as completed a building project at the camp. They weren’t completely sure of why they needed to join the trip but felt God’s prompting and obeyed. Their skills were put to good use on that team as Vern helped with major renovations at the camp and Gloria assisted with the VBS programs. During their time they felt an incredible connection with the people and ministry. Upon returning to Canada they could not get Romania out of their minds and hearts. We too felt our eyes open to a greater vision when we heard this and thus began our conversations of ways to partner with them.

As we are beginning major development at the camp, we would love to see the Wagner’s be able to move out here to begin to assist during that time.
