Our Time in North America

Happy back to school everyone! We hope you are enjoying this busy time of the year. We’ve been in North America on home assignment since the end of July and will continue to be here until the beginning of October. We had the privilege of being a part of Triennial 2018 “Being shaped for mission” in Edmonton. Our camp director Tamas joined us for the trip and the three of us were blessed to meet with many pastors and individuals who are partners with us and the camp ministry. We were also able to lead a break out session to give an update on the work going on at Camp Falcon Rock as well as the ways the NAB community can continue to partner with the camp. After Triennial, Tamas stayed with us for an extra week and the three of us travelled to a number of different places and churches to give an update on the work and give thanks to our partners.

After Triennial, Paul and I were able to take a couple of weeks off to be with both of our families and some friends. It was great to spend some quality time with them at my family cabin! We’ve been blessed with families and friends that are great supporters and encouragers of ours and the ministry in Romania! Now we are beginning our church visit tour. We hope we can see you all in our travels. Here’s our schedule:

-Wed. Sept 12 @6pm Balgonie Baptist -Sat. Sept 15 @6pm First Baptist Minitonas Youth group -Sun. Sept 16 morning service @ First Baptist Minitonas -Sun. Sept 16 @7pm Temple Baptist Swan River -Sun. Sept. 23 morning service @ Bismarck Baptist -Sun. Sept. 30 morning service @ First Baptist Linton, ND

Ministry has continued on back in Romania in our absence. In August we had a number of churches rent the camp for their own programs. One rental was from a Dutch missionary organization who brought up 70 gypsy kids to the camp. There were so many kids and such limited space that kids were having to share beds! But the week was incredibly impactful for this group. Many of these kids had never had a warm meal before. The first day they served a hot meal none of the kids ate it because they didn’t know what type of food it was--the food they are accustomed to is normally cold as they get it from begging. This Dutch group was able to not only provide true love and care to these kids through providing them food and a camp experience, they were also about to share the love and care of the Father by sharing about Jesus.

The Camp Falcon Rock crew were busy last weekend in preparing for our annual Thanksgiving day service. The team hosted a volunteer work/service day at the camp where 29 people came out to help with construction, maintenance and set up at the camp. It was so encouraging to see the local church members desire to help at the camp. The next day the camp hosted the Thanksgiving day service where almost 700 people came out!!! It was again so encouraging to see this number of people come out all who love the camp. Tamas said people where excited to see the progress in the camp development from last year and are eagerly waiting to come use the camp.

Camp construction has also continued. The team is currently working on getting the 2 duplex cabin walls and roofs done before Winter so that we can work on the interior work of the cabins in the Winter/Spring in order for them to be ready for next summer. Tamas had been looking for a local construction company to come build the walls but could not find one to come before November or December. We really wanted to get the walls and roofs on in order to move forward with construction. A local church heard about our desire and decided to come help build the walls!! This Fall we will be installing our water and sewage system. We have a couple of young men coming from Canada to help us with this project. If we are able to complete this system then we can increase our camper capacity at the camp as we will have a permanent, functional infrastructure. Please pray with us for: -Continued growth in the spiritual hearts of the many youth we met this summer. -Provision, efficiency and good weather as we look to beginning our water and sewage system in October. -For good times of fellowship and encouragement as we meet with many of our church partners this next month Thank you for continuing to journey along with us as we follow God in building the Kingdom in Romania through Camp Falcon Rock! Tanya and Paul
